So I was looking through old blogs of mine and here are a bunch of lyrics I wrote between the years 2004-2008.
I’ll admit I was young and naive at the time, and I thought I knew what love was back then, thought I had everything figured out. Well as this year has taught me..Very much not so. None of these are about anyone in particular, but written with the thought of love, of romance.
Romance is the glamour which turns the dust of everyday life into a golden haze.
-Elynor Glyn

Starting with my crowning glory. I really love the way this song came out lyrically.
I loved you
and you lied to me
Memories of what we used to be
Still linger in my head,
As well as the words so softly said.
Skin touching skin,
Bodies entwined
Oh, what a feeling
Your hand in mine
But the tide shifted
and washed that away
Now I dont know what to say
CHORUS:
Except I Love You,
and always will,
Playin love songs outside your window-sil
just trying to get back
to that time
When everything was fine,
And I knew what love was
Yeah, I knew what love was
Under the oak tree
in your parents yard
as night turned to day we fought so hard
to keep this moment frozen in time
when I was yours and you were mine
Then things were said and words exchanged
To hell with excuses, were both to blame
CHORUS:
Except I Love You,
and always will,
Playin love songs outside your window-sil
just trying to get back
to that time
When everything was fine,
And I knew what love was
Yeah, I knew what love was
WHEN WILL IT END
The sun is setting
on another day
It shimmers on the water
across the bay
and I walk
along the pierAll the while saying
(two drum beat)
I wish you were here.
I wish you were by my side
in times of triumph
I wish you were by my side
in times of grief
I wish you were by my side
on the coldest nights
but we all know that you’re the theif
You stole my heart (whoa)
It tore me apart (yeah) yes it did
and now I’m left..
pickin up pieces
and I don’t know where to begin
when will it end.
The tide may come
and tear us apart again
but no matter what
you’ll be in my heart my friend
and in my heart
you shall remain
though times may change
my heart stays the same
Chorus:
I wish you were by my side
in times of joy
I wish you were by my side
in times of grief
I wish you were by my side
on the coldest nights
but we all know that you’re the theif
You stole my heart (whoa)
It tore me apart (yeah) yes it did
and now I’m left..
pickin up pieces
and I don’t know where to begin
when will it end.
Grain of Sand
Am I just a grain of sand
upon your beach of memories?
A leaf floating by up in the sky
that’s caught up in the breeze
Or am I something more
something pure
something right
something true
will I ever get a chance
to be more to you
Whatever it takes
Yeah, that’s what I’ll do
Cuz one look from you
it sets me on fire and lights up the sky
yeah it takes me higher and I think I can fly
It leaves me wanting so much more
much more than I’ll ever have
Failsafe/ You
I use these words as a failsafe
to masquerade what I wanna say
and in them I find comfort
that we lasted another day
But is it true?
But is it right?
I pray we last another night
So I can
Show to you
Everything I’ve always wanted to
Light in Your Eyes
It’s just the light in your eyes
That caught me by surprise
All the words I never got to say
It happened all so fast
Just like a car crash
And I live with the pain everyday
When I look into your eyes
I get lost in the light
and am taken back
to that hot summer night
a night spent
under the stars
a night made for lovers
and that night was ours
Untitled
Crashing like a wave
against the beach
I know what I want
But it’s just out of reach
As I look at the stars
and lay in the sand
I’m taken to a faraway land
The leaves change color
from green to red
All the while
remembering what you said
on that one night
many months ago
I try to forget
but it isn’t so
Chorus:
Seasons Change
and colors fade
But the one thing that remains the same
is the fact that I love you
the fact that I love you
People come
and people go
But I just want you to know
My love for you rings true
My love for you rings true
As snow falls gently
‘cross the town
footsteps leave tracks
on the ground
I wonder ’bout you
every now and again
and wonder if
things’ll be like they were back then
Chorus:
Seasons Change
and colors fade
But the one thing that remains the same
is the fact that I love you
the fact that I love you
People come
and people go
But I just want you to know
My love for you rings true
My love for you rings true
This is an article I wrote in 2006 for a now defunct magazine. Enjoy
UNDER THE COVERS
New bands, and old songs, the relationship between the two can at times be a great thing, or can be comparable to Whitney and Bobby, but a bunch of up and coming bands hope to take a stab at it on the Punk Goes 90s CD which was released on May 9th.
Put out by Fearless Records, the little label that could, and primarily fueled by their myspace page (www.myspace.com/punkgoes90s), which at the time of this writing has had 365,239 plays since mid-March, Punk Goes 90s, the fifth installment in the Punk Goes series looks to tap into the popular music of the 90s.
This CD features eighteen tracks from bands such as The Starting Line, Emery, and the Plain White Ts covering the songs from the generation that brought us 90210, Nirvana, and those damn things called Beanie Babies.the 90s.
As for the topic of cover songs, sure, the original songs are great and all, but after a while of hearing the same song, sung the same way, it gets tiring. But fear not, thats where cover songs come in… Most of the time. Sometimes they can breathe new life into old songs, while paying homage to the original artist, and other times they can just suck.
Scary Kids Scaring Kids keyboardist Pouyan, whose band covered the R.E.M smash hit Losing My Religion, said “None of the members are really fans of R.E.M., but we liked that song, and the lyrics.” Also “covering a song like that was a more challenging choice for the band”, and according to him, they had to step it up, and mix his bands style with the original version. When asked what it meant to him, to be given the chance to cover such a hit song, he said “Its awesome. That song had such a huge impact”. However he feels that some cover songs are good, if done well, but believes that bands should concentrate on original music.
Brian Leppke, the guitarist from metal band Bleeding Through (whose band departed their roots and performed a dead on cover of the song Stars by HUM) said that his band chose that song because a few of the songs they wanted to cover were already chosen, and the band felt HUM was overlooked. When asked why Bleeding Through, a metal band, joined the Punk Goes series, he replied “Just because that type of music, the songs they gave us to pick from were big when we were growing up, and I mean, its awesome, its cool that we have opportunities to do stuff like this.”
When asked how he felt about cover songs, he had a different take than Pouyan, saying “A lot of bands were broken from cover (songs), like Limp Bizkit, its a fun thing”
Some of the highlights on this CD include Gym Class Heroes hip-hop/punk rock version of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers smash hit Under The Bridge, Anberlins lively cover of the Depeche Mode song Enjoy The Silence, and the Killing Moons screamo cover of Alanis Morissettes jagged little hit You Oughtta Know. However the three best songs on this CD are a simply amazing cover of Wonderwall by Cartel, which is fueled primarily by a non acoustic guitar, as the original was done, the punkish sounding cover of Hey Jealousy by music industry rookies Hit The Lights, and last but not least, internet sensation Bedlight for Blue Eyes emotionally charged acoustic version of Third Eye Blinds song Jumper.
This CD is sure to bring you back to the times before music became too commercial, so if you liked the music of the 90s, or are a fan of any band featured, you should definitely check out this album.
Also Gym Class Heroes, Emery, and the Plain White Ts are all appearing on this years lineup of the Warped Tour, which is set to hit the Fitchburg Airport, in Fitchburg Massachusetts on Wednesday, August 2nd. Tickets for this event are available on www.tickets.com.

So I guess instead of writing a traditional 5000th tweet, I’m writing a blog.
Some of you may find this corny or odd, but right now I really could care less.
When I first joined Twitter, I had no clue what to expect or what the hell Twitter even was. But almost 8 months, and 5000 tweets later here we are.
I’ve made some good friends, met a lot of great people, and so far had a lot of fun.
To all my friends out there, thank you for the follow, and sharing in lifes ups and downs with me through my first 5,000 tweets. I never expected to meet such a kind and supportive group of people as you on twitter. We may not know each other personally, but we’re all there for each other. That means more to me than you will ever know. Thank you all so very much.
ONTO THE NEXT 5,000
So when I went to NYC, I brought a notepad, and wrote some really interesting thoughts down.
Life passes unaware
To them, I’m not here, nor am I there.
Just a shadow passing through space.
I frequent coffee houses and bars
leaving little trace
Here one second
Then gone the next
My life carries on
In these lingering texts.
These texts to be read,
to be felt, to be seen.
A lifetime of fading memories
played out on a screen.
What had I hoped to find in wake of what I’d lost?
Closure? Redemption? Or something more…
———————————————————————————-
I wrote much more, but that’s possibly for another day.
So it’s been a very long time since I’ve posted here.
But I feel the need to get some things off my mind.
In the past year my world has been turned completely upside down.
But this past year things have emotionally impacted me a lot harder than expected.
Last August, my aunt Cathy passed away in a car accident. She left behind my cousin and since then he’s been in and out of the hospital with a burst intestine, and complications from surgeries. Thankfully he’s better now.
Not a day goes by that we don’t think of her. We all talked to her every single day since her job caused her to move a lot, and we shared a special bond with her and my cousin.
I miss her and I love her.
Then yesterday, I found out that one of my old good friends sister’s Cassandra passed away due to complications from surgery a few days ago and the wake was yesterday.
This girl had sent me a message just a few weeks ago, and I didn’t respond. I wish I had.
A little backstory. Cassandra’s brother Justin, our friend Sergio and I used to spend every day together, just riding around, playing baseball, or basketball. Us and Justin’s girlfriend at the time took many, many trips to NYC, had wild New Years parties and spent long nights playing Madden. We were like family. But we had a falling out when I was seeing this girl that they didn’t really like and put too much time into that.
We lost touch over the years, but I’ve ran into and talked with their families when they come into my work. Seeing my friend Justin and his family yesterday after all that’s happened was not easy. We reminded each other that we’re brother’s and always there for each other.
Today , Sergio’s mom came in and asked me if I heard about our little “Fluffy” passing and I told her I had. She said she wished we all patched up whatever bullshit happened in the past, because life is too damn short for that.
I’ll admit we were both in tears reminiscing about the years gone by. It led me to wonder where the hell did all the time go?
I just went to message Kasey and tell her the sad news, since shes out of the loop living in California..and found out she just became a mother.
It seems like just yesterday that we didn’t have a damn care in the world. We were young, stupid, naive kids who thought we knew everything. We thought we had it all figured out. We did what we wanted, we broke the rules, we didn’t think life would be this short for some of us.
All I can say is to tell your friends, and the people who mean something to you that you love them. You never know what’s going to happen.
Cathy and Cassandra, I love you both, and I miss you.
Sorry for the abruptness of this blog, but…. this is my 1st attempt at live blogging, sorry if it sucks and..
Tonight is Grammy night!!, as all my loyal readers know, music is my life. I’ve written lyrics, and my head is filled with so much music knowledge…
U2 kicked off the show with their new song Sexy Boots. It’s good to see them rockin’ for so many years, and not missing a beat. I saw them in 2001, and hope they come around again.
I can’t wait for Coldplay and Jay-Z to perform Lost+ tonight, this is a song that I believe should be up for numerous awards in both the rock and rap category.
Ok it’s now 9:15 and I found out I missed Coldplay and Jay-Z…but thank God for youtube.
Right now the Jonas Brothers are performing with Stevie Wonder, which I believe is a great thing for the music industry, as it bridges the generational gap…DAMN that performance was insane.
Blink 182 are getting back together! Holy Shit! I’ve seen them about 3 times, and each time, they rocked the fuckin house.
I’m so glad Travis Barker and DJ AM survived that plane crash.
9:30 Damn Katy Perry as the Chiquita banana girl…sooo fuckin sexy..but nowhere was the “my Grammy moment” contest winner…odd.
Now the song I cant stand, eventhough it’s catchy… Estelle w/Kanye – American Boy….Wonder if he’ll stay on stage to sing Swagga Like Us with M.I.A., T.I., Jay-Z, And Lil Wayne …ugh there he goes bitching again about not getting the best new artist Grammy…
Aww how cute, Adele…she deserved it with her soulful voice…and she’s kinda cute…plus if the Jonas Brothers won..what kind of message would that say about the RIAA?
Ok they just had the Swagga like us performance with TI, Lil Wayne, Kanye, Jay-Z and a very pregnant MIA (shes due today)…
After a very fitting introduction by Kate Beckinsale…now it’s time for the legendary Sir Paul McCartney.
10pm:
…Jack Black is not funny when it’s unscripted….
Ok here comes Adele, I expect a lot from her over the next few years.
Ok her performance of Chasing Pavements with Sugarland has given me a newfound respect for Country music. I’ll admit there are a few artist’s I like here and there, but it’s not my main genre of music to listen to, but that performance was simple amazing.
TI is the fuckin man! He had TWO of his songs performed tonight!
This guy, while he is the recording academy’s president…always gives the worst speeches..and please tell me he didn’t just cop Obama’s “Yes We Can”…just wow.
Neyo, Jaime Foxx, Smokey Robinson and the 1 remaining member of the Four tops performing the Mo-Town classic “I’ll Be There”…this is such an iconic moment in my opinion, and I am truly blessed to be able to witness it.
Mo-town is one of the leading reasons that many of today’s artist’s exist, and not many people under the age of 20 will understand just how much of a moment they just witnessed….BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT!
Neil Diamond’s singing now, and this is a huuuge letdown that he’s basically speaking the words instead of singing…BUT I love the fact the crowd is taking a page out of Fenway Park and singing “So Good” the way Red Sox fans love to.
Ok I’m a bit morbid…I love the In Memoriam part, because it’s always nice to reflect upon how much of an inspiration those who have passed on have had on the music industry.
Lil Wayne is giving one hell of a performance now. Much love the New Orleans and the music it has given us.
Ok They just announced Album of the year..Robert Plant and Allison Krauss…not that good in my opinion, was hoping Coldplay or Lil Wayne would get it..but oh well.
Last night was the finale of TRL, thus marking the end of an era.

I remember coming home from school and watching TRL religiously as I’m sure many of you have.
For me, as someone who has made music his life, this is especially sad.
In the 24 hours preceding the TRL finale the only music videos found on the network were in the replay of the finale and the premiere of Rihanna’s “Rehab” video. This truly is the death of a facet of the music industry. TRL and MTV were the quintessential launching pads for many, many careers in the music and entertainment industry, and to see what MTV has become just sickens me.
Gone are the epic video premiere’s that they hyped for weeks, gone are the interview’s, the classic moments, and possibly the VMA’s…now it’s drivel like “The Hills” that has taken over the airwaves.
I wish I could write more, but I am pressed for time…
My last statement is to any and all music lovers.
Please rally together and save the music industry. We NEED a show like TRL and a network that’s devoted to videos and music, as MTV used to be. We NEED to do something fast. If any musicians/celebs find their way to my blog, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don’t hesitate to contact me. I would be willing to put my savings into any new Music Video outlet, as there is a need for it.
